You can use a pre-made theme to change your existing page also. It's a great start for a personalized scrapbook page!

Almost Magical Paying users can make, save and load as many themes as they desire now! You can make tons of cool themes to use later for your pet's scrapbook page. Petizens Featured Pet of the Day: Annabelle is a Beagle / German Shepherd dog that just joined Petizens!! She is 5 years old and calls Massachusetts her home. She is already has made it to level 3!! Annabelle's mom decorated her scrapbook with a cute pink paw print theme with tons of fun animated stickers. There are hearts everywhere! Petizens Featured Pet of the Day: All of the pieces fit together on Cricket's summer page. His summer scrapbook page is decorated with a colorful jigsaw puzzle. He is a paying member and took full advantage of the member features like rotated photos and unlimited HTML text. Petizens Featured Pet of the Day: Jake Puddin' Britches has an excellent summer page that features a 'hot' orange background. The page is covered in cute puppy photos and animated stickers such as an ice cream cone and dancing flowers! In Jake's speech bubble, he says "I love the dog days of summer." Petizens Featured Pet of the Day: FenHong is a pink Male poodle. Of course if you look close enough, his roots are white. His owner, Zhang dyes his fur about once per month to give him the gorgeous pink coat. His page is decorated in a bright summer theme because he is also participating in the Summer Fun Competition on Petizens. The background of his page is white with cute paw prints all over. His page is full of fun dog pictures and stickers that he found on Petizens. This cute dog calls China his home and loves to go on walks in the park.

Petizens is a new social networking site. As its name suggests, it is geared towards pet owners and (of course) their mascots. Users can interact with each other in the vein that this kind of sites usually enable them to interact, and media showcasing their little friends at their finest can be put about and shared. Moreover, competitions are held regularly so that interaction between members is taken one step beyond.

On the other hand, the network includes both a “Help” and a “Knowledge” section which can be consulted should you need some guidance as regards the care of your pet. A forum is likewise provided to these ends, and also for hanging out and socializing even more.

When it comes to the actual creation of the profile pages, the company prides itself on applying a new approach, as it allows users to drag and drop components in order to build a profile page. This not only makes pages easier to build, but also more enjoyable and even more accessible – people are daunted if they have to start performing operations that are even slightly complex, and that can turn them off. Petizens Featured Page of the Day: Who doesn't like searching for sea shells by the sea shore? You can find tons of sea shells on Bawheid's Petizens page. He is a three year old black Mini-Lop rabbit from Scotland. Bawheid enjoys playing with his three doggy sisters who protect him from danger. The page is decorated with tons of HTML images including lots of fun characters from Alice in Wonderland and fun pool side images! Bawheid is participating in Petizens summer competition and had done an excellent job making his page look like summer! Petizens Featured Page of the Day: Take a day trip to the beach and visit the tropical island of Benny's page! Benny is a Minature Pinscher / Fox Terrier mix from the United States. Benny recently got married and has many great photos on the beach with his wife, Watsie! They enjoy taking long walks on the beach together and sharing their love on petizens. The page is a sandy brown and decorated with ice cold drinks and many other great stickers. The final touch to the tropical paradise on Benny's page is the classic summer music that makes you want to have a night-time bon fire on the beach with your closes friends.

Valentine competition results

The Valentine competition has just finished. It was a very tight race from day one until the very last day. Princess took the lead from day one, but was pushed out several times by Reyes and Bobby. Yesterday Bert was on the top for a short while as well. 3565 votes were cast and a total of 31,683 points were given to the 122 participants.

The winner was Princess a beautiful Chihuahua dog from Glasgow, Scotland (Great Britain). For this competition the winner received 100,000 Petopian$, 2nd position 50,000 P$, 3rd position 25,000 P$ and each winner in each animal group 10,000 Petopian$.

Come and join our valentine webpage competition, we're open for any pet!

To make a valentine inspired page on Petizens.com is very simple; we're the first social networking site where you can actually make a page according to your wishes, you don't need to learn HTML, CSS or other complicated scripts. On Petizens.com just drag and drop photos, videos, blog, guestbook, etc to your page. Then you can resize them, change their backgrounds, fonts, captions, etc.

As you can see on Karma's valentine page (pictured here), you can put the stickers (small transparent animated or static images) anywhere on your page, to really personalize it. Further down on Karma's page there is a video player that plays music as well as lots of other pictures. You can make the page as long as you want and add as much fun stuff you like.

Got our MySpace page up... finally

I knew that MySpace was VERY hard to use, but I had no idea that it would take me a week to be figure out how to make a page that would look like Petizens.com in look and feel. It took me only 10min on Blogger. No wonder that MySpace are losing users.
I kept searching for help on how to deal with the CSS for MySpace, but most people that made nice layouts for MySpace did it before the new 2.0 version of MySpace and they didn't update their CSS codes.
One of the reasons we made www.petizens.com was to let anyone make a nice customized page for their pet, I knew that MySpace had a million pet profiles, but clearly not many of them knew HTML or CSS, so they all looked more or less the same.

FaceBook is not much better, we made a user page there, a group page and a Fan page, but then we cannot invite our friends to these group and fan pages easily...

So, now Petizens got pages on several popular sites where we will update our friends on our progress and invite people to try a whole new experience.

Frankie joins Petizens

This is a story about Frankie, an amazing Dachshund, that will show you even if life seems at it's end there is always hope:

On Easter Sunday 2006 Frankie ruptured a disk in her back and became permanently paralyzed. Frankie's owner, Barbara feared she had to put Frankie to sleep, but with a surgery the damaged disc was removed and Frankie's life was spared. It took six weeks of strict cage rest for Frankie to heal properly. Dachshunds are a breed that relish and thrive in being a part of the family, so she recevied a lot of love and care during her recovery.

As soon as her time was up of cage rest was completed, there was no stopping her. She immediately adjusted to her new life and began scooting around by pulling her front legs along. The loss of her back legs did not deter her one bit in going on with her life.

Frankie’s first time outdoors after her accident was a new adventure for her. Barbara let her snorkel around in the grass to her hearts content. She has always loved birds and especially loves to chase them. Just then, a big Robin hopped through the yard a few feet away. Frankie was off in a flash! She was that fast- and all with only two legs!

For another three months Frankie underwent physical therapy trying to walk, but her hind legs were paralyzed for life, she would never be able to walk and run like other dogs. Barbara ordered a set of wheels from Eddie’s Wheels (the owner started this company due to their dog, Daisy, also had the same injury).

We asked Barbara how she taught Frankie to walk (or should we say roll?). "If only it had been that easy. I used treats to entice Frankie and help her realize that her back end would roll instead of walk. The first few times out I felt like a child pulling a wheeled toy. Eventually, Frankie gained strength and now looks forward to her walks (or, as we say, rolls).

Soon thereafter many children saw Frankie in her wheels and Barbara told them the story about Frankie. Soon she was talking in schools and in hospitals, to tell children that there is always hope. Life is not over just because you're paralyzed. Life is worth living and Frankie is the happiest dog ever.
